What Does Success Look Like For You?

It’s easy these days to feel like you’re failing at life when you look at what other people are doing online…

Talking about their million dollar incomes and flashing their brand new $100,000 cars…

Don’t get me wrong….this post isn’t to knock anyone…I admire the hard work and dedication that these people have put in to building their businesses and if what they’re posting is aligned with their soul, they deserve every ounce of it…

But one thing that’s become apparent to me is…

That’s not me…

Does that mean I’m not successful?

No…

Being successful is succeeding in what makes you happy…not how much money you make…

Yes…money makes life easier and I’m certainly not saying don’t strive to make more money than you need or fix your money issues…but do you really need millions every year to create the life you desire?

I’m a minimalist at heart…I don’t desire huge wardrobes of clothes and fancy shoes…

The less stuff I have, the happier I am…

I love experiences or gifts I can use…

Quite frankly, I hate clothes shopping and due to feet and skeletal issues, as much as I love the look of high heels, they’re not for me…

I own a good pair of boots and a good pair of runners…

I also own a pair of flat sandals and have one pair of shoes with a platform heel that I’ll wear if I’m not going to be doing a lot of walking…

That’s it…four pairs of shoes…that’s the extent of my shoe collection and I’m happy…

As for clothes, if I find something I really like, I’ll wear it until I can wear it no more…even better to get something I can match it with…

I tend to wear the same things over and over again…no reason other than I don’t really want to have to think about it…

It better be comfortable and it better be wash n wear!

I prefer quality over quantity…

Does my lack of desire to have a huge wardrobe mean I’m not successful?

No way…because a huge wardrobe would not make me happy…

I’m not a jewellery person, either…

No reason other than I don’t enjoy wearing it…it annoys me…

I’ve never had the desire to own a Mercedes Benz or any other expensive car…

I’ve always been attracted to Honda CR-Vs…

That might change now that they seem to be focusing more on automatic instead of manual transmissions (I LOVE my manual car!), but regardless, success for me is owning a Honda CR-V or whatever SUV takes my fancy in the future…

I’ve never loved the idea of living in a huge house…a 3 bedroom townhouse with a small courtyard overlooking the water on the coast gets me excited…

Success for me is travelling and seeing the world in comfort (yes, I’m a lover of creature comforts…no camping/backpacking going on here)…

Success for me is having a body that’s healthy, strong, flexible, looks good and provides me with a quality of life…

Success for me is having great hair…

Success for me is having a great relationship with my partner, with those close to me and with myself…

Success for me is being able to eat out regularly (that’s a personal experience I like to enjoy with someone)…

Success for me is being able to live my life on my terms and to do what I love to do…

Success for me is having all of the tech tools at my fingertips to create what I desire…

Success for me is making more than enough money to create the life I desire…

Success for me is having a career I love…

Success for me is spending time and being loved by my cat…

One thing’s for sure is that it won’t take millions per year, a mansion, a huge wardrobe or an expensive car for me to say I’m successful…

Don’t allow what others are doing online to make you feel like you’re not successful…

Each to their own…be happy for them…

But tune in and really ask yourself what you REALLY want…

What does your soul desire?

Maybe you want to be a Llama Farmer…

Maybe you want to live in a shack by the ocean…

Maybe you do want to live in a mansion with the million dollar trimmings…

Don’t let what others define as success and your level of success…

To be successful is to be, do and have what makes you happy…

Creating the desires within your soul without compromise…

Take money out of the equation and ask yourself…what does your heart truly desire?

What does success really look like for you?
