There’s No Such Thing As Failure

This has come up like a blinding light for me this morning…

This post is not about everyone receiving a trophy…

I believe WINNERS should be acknowledged and rewarded for their efforts of soul aligned work and achievement…

But what if every everyone was a winner even if they appeared to FAIL…

If you’ve put your heart and soul into something and you didn’t WIN…

It doesn’t mean you’ve FAILED…

Failure is simply a human term…

Because humans LOVE to focus on the negative…

On how EVERYTHING is going WRONG…

But what if in your moment of apparent FAILURE, you’re actually a WINNER?

What if that moment you fell flat on your face either physically or energetically you were actually taking a HUGE leap forward in your journey of life and making outstanding progress?

When I was starting my singing career in my early 20’s, I entered a talent quest where I had to sing with a band…

I’d never done it before…I was as nervous as hell…

I had to prepare music charts for the band…

I rehearsed dancers…

I practiced and practiced and practiced…

And when the time finally came and I was up on the stage…

I FORGOT THE WORDS TO THE SONG…

SMACK BANG IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG…

I had no idea how to wrap up a band…

I lost my place in the song…

The audience was looking at me…

The dancers were looking at me…

The band were all looking at me…

All waiting for a cue as to what to do next…

And I had absolutely NO IDEA!

Thankfully the band leader did know what to do and she wrapped it up…

I was SO EMBARRASSED…

My worst nightmare had come true…

BUT I still had a CHOICE…

I could retreat back into my comfort zone and shy away from the world, too ashamed to EVER show my face in public again OR…

I could learn from the experience to ensure it would never happen again…

AND TO KEEP MOVING FORWARD…

I went on to tour the world as an entertainer and am proud to be celebrating 25 years now in the industry…

I learned a lot that day and I went on to learn a lot more…

I came up with a technique to easily and effortlessly remembering the words to songs…

I learned that the world wasn’t going to end if I did forget the words to the songs…

I learned that it’s ok to find the fun in the face of adversity and to laugh with myself…

I learned that the audience was actually on my side…

Most of all, I learned that there is no failure in life when you follow your dreams…

Only stepping stones that are a part of the journey…

No one walks in on the top floor of their goals fully experienced…

You get to the top floor BECAUSE of those apparent failed experiences…

The only way you can possible fail in life is by not stepping up, not taking a chance, looking your fears straight in the eye and taking action anyway…

Getting to the end of your life and regretting the fact that you didn’t even try…

That is failure…

Taking a chance and falling flat on your face…

That makes you a WINNER…

Stop allowing the fear of failure to stop you in your tracks…

The destination is not your apparent ‘end goal’…

You will never be done…

The journey is your destination…

Get out there…live your life and enjoy the journey…

Be a winner at LIFE!
