Are You Afraid of Being Well?

“Do you like being sick?”

“What a stupid question!”

Well, that’s what I thought when I was first asked back in 2009 by my kinesiologist after eighteen years of dealing with an incurable disease in my body and carrying emotional baggage culminated in me having an emotional breakdown.

She recognised it seemed like a silly question but she asked me to dig deep and really think about it anyway.

I thought long and hard and finally I realised she was right. I LOVED being sick and all of the benefits that went with it.

I didn’t have to commit to anything. I had an excuse. I wasn’t responsible for it.

I had a safety net.

Life was great….except that I was sick and was missing out on living life to my fullest potential.

I had a fear of being well. I was so scared of the responsibility that went with being well I had been keeping myself in my illness comfort zone.

OMG! What if I had to be responsible for myself?

Thank God I was also at that point where I was FED UP with it ruling my life. I’d had enough and I wanted to get well…

As soon as I had made that decision, I felt a shift move across my body and I could physically feel my body starting to heal.

I kid you not. The reason?

I’d made the decision to align myself with health. I’d decided I wanted to be well.

You have the power within you to do exactly the same thing.

You can choose to be well.

You just have to want it with ALL OF YOUR BEING.

Your current state of health is a result of the beliefs you’ve picked up along the way from family, friends, doctors AND media along with your thoughts, your feelings and your actions.

But YOU HAVE THE POWER to change everything!

Don’t believe me? What are you focused on?

What you focus on you’ll create, so if you’re continually focusing on what’s wrong, i.e. being in pain, being tired, being overweight….that’s what you’ll create.

What do you believe about where you are right now? What you believe is what you’ll create.

How do you feel about where you are right now? Down? Then that’s what you’ll create.

What action steps are you taking? Are you saying you want to do something to improve your health but letting everything else get in the way? Your life is a result of the actions you take.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE EVERYTHING!

All you have to do is TRULY WANT IT, BELIEVE IT, TAKE POSITIVE ACTION and be open to ALLOWING IT TO HAPPEN.

YOU NEED TO BE IN THE FLOW

So, DO YOU LIKE BEING SICK?

Be truthful with yourself. Stop making excuses. If you like being sick and you’re happy with that, that’s perfectly fine.

But if you’re ready to step up and EMBRACE THE HEALTH THAT’S WAITING FOR YOU….

YOU HAVE THE POWER WITHIN YOU TO CHANGE EVERYTHING.

Remember…

It’s your life. The quality is your choice.
